London Southend Airport has announced two senior appointments as part of a new operating model, as it prepares to welcome back passengers for the summer season.
Phil Grewock joins as Finance Director having worked across a variety of industries including aviation, property services, property development and construction with a rich mix of finance, commercial and leadership experience. His experience includes Warwick Estates, London Stansted Airport and Countrywide PLC.
Nigel Mayes joins as Business Development Director. He has over 25 years industry experience, having started his career with the route development team at Birmingham Airport before joining air service development consultants ASM in 2001. While with ASM Nigel led Routes’ global route development events. During his time with ASM/Routes Nigel was responsible for numerous new air services across the globe for many different airports and tourism authority clients. His expertise in developing new air services will be vital in bringing London Southend passenger traffic back to and beyond the two million passengers it enjoyed pre-COVID.
Phil and Nigel join a re-formed London Southend Airport board led by airport CEO Glyn Jones and Esken Executive Director and CFO Lewis Girdwood.
“These new appointments are critical to the airport’s return to growth. Phil and Nigel will play significant roles in the development of London Southend Airport now and in the future,” said Glyn Jones, CEO London Southend Airport.
