In an expansion of the team delivering the 2019 Heathrow-hosted British-Irish Airports EXPO, Iain McLean (49) has been appointed as General Manager, to lead the EXPO with a strong business development brief. Iain has an extensive business events background, including senior positions with IML, Centaur and IIR, and has worked in several industries related to airports, including facilities management and civil engineering, in both the UK and Middle East. “I am very impressed by the level of engagement the EXPO is receiving on the visits I have made to several airports, including Manchester and Heathrow, hosts of the 2019 EXPO,” said McLean, who will also lead the EXPO’s closely-held relationship with BAG and its 200+ members, as well as the EXPO’s sponsorship of the 40-strong airports of the Regional And Business Airports Group (RABA). “As a Scot growing up in Stranraer, I fully appreciate the role that well-connected airports play in our communities, so I will definitely continue to champion the regional airports’ cause which is a big hallmark of the leading UK and Irish airports EXPO.”
