In one of the first announced appearances since her appointment as Aviation Minister in October, Baroness Sugg has accepted an invitation to officially open the 3rd British-Irish Airports EXPO and the Annual Conference of RABA (the Regional And Business Airports Group Annual Conference and AGM is hosted by the British-Irish Airports EXPO).
Baroness Sugg, who became a life peer in August 2016, previously served as Director of Operations and Campaigns at Downing Street under David Cameron.
“RABA is hugely pleased by this recognition of our role in representing the collective voice of 40 UK regional and business airports. Baroness Sugg is a political heavyweight with a solid reputation for taking a firm command of her brief. This is a real chance to advance our cause, and indeed the cause of all UK airports, at the top table of Government.”
– Neil Pakey, Chair, RABA (former CEO of Shannon Airport, and Liverpool John Lennon Airport)
“The Aviation Minister is the Christmas present we were waiting for. With 86 exhibitors we are almost half way to our target of 200 at the British-Irish Airports EXPO 2018. The hosting by mega-hub Heathrow Airport represents a major step-up this year, so we are forecasting 3,000 visitors. Besides the totally free-of-charge EXPO there will be six premium-quality conferences spanning RABA’s Annual Conference and AGM, further conferences on UK/Eire airport development, operations, and airport procurement, and the 2nd Airport Counter Terrorism Conference organised by the Metropolitan Police Aviation Policing Command. There are more big announcements to come before the EXPO. Merry Christmas to all our friends and customers at British-Irish airports, suppliers, and SMEs.”
– Paul Hogan, Event Director, 3rd British-Irish Airports EXPO
